How the First Edition of AI@WORK HR Unfolded

AI@WORK HR brought together leaders from HR, business, and technology for two days in Bucharest. The goal was simple. Understand how to use artificial intelligence in HR without losing the human side of work. The event focused on one core idea. Technology should support human decisions, not replace them. The discussions centered on clarity, responsibility, and real use in organizations.

From the very first edition, AI@WORK HR became a place for honest and mature conversation about AI in HR. It was built for professionals who make real decisions. The conference was not about hype or blind automation. It was about using technology correctly, transparently, and with respect for people, culture, and performance.

Applied content, not theory

The agenda included more than 20 speakers from Romania and abroad. HR leaders, AI experts, consultants, and business professionals shared real experiences, case studies, and lessons from practice. Topics covered leadership in the AI era, turning data into strategic decisions, AI in recruitment, future skills for HR, and also the risks and limits of artificial intelligence.

One key theme stayed constant. Balance between technology and human judgment. Speakers talked openly about what works, what fails, and the trade-offs needed when AI is used in real organizations.

A space for real conversations

AI@WORK HR was not just a series of presentations. It created space for real dialogue. Panels, workshops, and interactive sessions encouraged tough questions, open exchange, and critical thinking. People did not come only to listen. They came to understand, challenge ideas, and leave with practical insights.

Several speakers highlighted an important role of such events. They help calibrate reality. They separate real AI potential from exaggerated expectations. They help people see how technology can support human decisions, not distort them.

A senior and engaged audience

The audience was made of senior professionals. HR Directors, Chief People Officers, Talent Acquisition and L&D leaders, People Analytics and digital transformation specialists, and business and technology leaders. These are people who shape strategy, not only operations. This kept discussions grounded in real decisions and real impact.

Participants came from multiple industries. Tech, finance, FMCG, retail, and consulting. This brought diverse perspectives on how AI is changing work and how organizations manage people.

Technology as support, not substitute

One message came back again and again. AI is not a threat. It is an augmentation. Technology can handle repetitive and demanding tasks. It can bring clarity to complex processes. It can improve the experience for both candidates and organizations. But final decisions remain human.

Real examples showed how AI can support recruitment, data analysis, employee experience, and leadership. All without removing context, empathy, or responsibility.

More than an event

The first edition confirmed something important. There is a real need for this kind of space. AI is growing inside organizations. Companies are looking for ethical guidance. Professionals want real case studies, not theory. The conversation between technology and people has only just begun.

AI@WORK HR is not only a conference. It is becoming a community. A place where HR leaders and AI specialists work together toward a responsible, clear, and practical future of work.

The first edition showed one key lesson. In times of fast change, the real question is not how fast we adopt technology. It is how well we understand its impact on people.
